Rachel became interested in Massage Therapy at a young age when she was a high level swimmer and started experiencing back problems. Over the years, the sports and activities changed, and the aches and pains did too. Using pain as her teacher, she developed a deep connection with her body and was inspired to understand how it functioned at a more academic level. This led her to the West Coast College of Massage Therapy where she graduated with honours in 2010 from the 3000 hr RMT program.
Rachel believes that healing the body takes special care and awareness from both the therapist and the client. She enjoys working with her clients to uncover the root cause(s) of their discomfort, listening to their stories and experiences, as well as gathering information through an ongoing assessment of the body. She combines this with her deep knowledge of anatomy to uncover restrictive patterns in the
tissues preventing proper function of the body. It is her goal and her joy to see her clients enjoying life, without limitations due to dysfunction and/or pain.
Since graduation, Rachel has been most interested in fascial release, visceral techniques, and the mind-body connection. She is passionate about learning new tools and keeping current with therapeutic techniques. In order to enhance the healing process, she frequently engages the client through the use of active relaxation techniques, such as guided imagery and breathing techniques. She has had success with treating various conditions including chronic pain, whiplash, sports injuries old or new, motor vehicle injuries, tendinopathies, scar tissue restrictions affecting mobility, and neuropathies including sciatic, carpal tunnel, nerve damage and thoracic outlet to name a few.
When Rachel is not working, she is spending time with her family, working in the veggie garden, trying to get a hike or snowshoe in, and cooking up a storm.

Sherri is a graduate of The West Coast College of Massage Therapy. Since entering practice in 1996, she has complemented her training with in depth studies in yoga therapy, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, and cranial sacral therapy. She has been able to create a personal style which blends her experience in sports and movement with her knowledge of the human body. Treatments with Sherri reflect her understanding that the body’s structure is interconnected. Changing circumstances force the body to continually adapt both mentally and physically. It’s through this adaptation that restriction of tissues are formed. Leading to limitation or painful movement.
Through assessment of all of the body’s structures, treatment and patient education, the body can begin to unlock, unwind, and heal itself. Bringing back the state of balance and harmony.

Allison has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy Centre in 2002. She opened Synergy Massage Therapy Centre in 2004 with friend and business partner Sherri Muir to create a safe and inviting space where they could offer their clients a refuge for healing.
Every session with Allison is unique. She looks at each person as a fully interconnected being with its own innate ability to heal. However, due to the dynamic nature of our bodies we can get stuck in pain or dysfunctional patterns. By carefully assessing and listening to the body and using the most efficient and effective techniques to release adhesions and restrictions, Allison is able to help restore balance and mobility with lasting results. She provides a warm, healing environment and enables her clients to ease back into healthier, happier, and more functional lives.
Her ongoing continuing education has led her to focus on Myofascial Release, Visceral Manipulation, and Craniosacral Therapy. These techniques continue to deepen her understanding of the human body and are an integral part of her treatments. Over her years of practice she has worked with numerous conditions including stubborn postural holding patterns, athletic injuries, and digestive concerns. She has also developed a keen interest in pre and post-natal care through her own experiences in pregnancy.
